Armoire painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Duck Egg Blue and Old White

Armoire finished in Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue and Old White | The Lowcountry Lady

We got this really great armoire at a Celadon warehouse sale several years ago.  Only problem is it was very dark wood and our bedroom walls are a clashing dark color so I  haven't loved the combination.

I've become such a fan of Annie Sloan chalk paint and thought it could help me transform this piece of furniture.  I started with old white, but changed my mind when I was almost done.  I ended up mixing Old White and Duck Egg Blue (about 1:1).  I finished it with clear wax. Here are a few pictures of the project along the way:

I love how it turned out.

04.08.15 update.  I'm considering sanding to distress the piece a bit to let some of the original wood show through... what do you think?

    2. What a her lol. I thinks it's lovely. I also think some distressing would add interest. Maybe also try making a glaze from the dark wax mixed with a little mineral spirits (the wax goes on easier and more transparently when mixed with mineral spirits).

  3. I really like this. I have a nice sort of turquoise paint and I was afraid it was just too turquoise. I will undercoat in white and then really distress the turquoise so it should soften like this. Imitation is the best from of flattery :-). I love it needless to say!
