I've always loved the cottagy look that a brick path or patio creates. Several years ago, we had the opportunity to collect some old brick from a fireplace that was removed from an older house in West Ashley. I knew right away what I wanted to do with it.
Take a look at how we replaced our boring builders concrete patio with this amazing brick.
Removing the concrete was a loud, grueling process.
I love how it turned out!
And, we've since added the pergola to add warmth and make it feel a bit more like an outdoor room. :)
We're thinking of adding a trellis for the Jasmine to grow on to create a little privacy on the street side. What do you think?
I absolutely love the look of your new brick patio! I have a cement pad in my backyard as well, but I have always thought that it looks bad. It would be so nice to be able to get the cement taken out and then put in a nice patio like this. Then I would be able to have an awning and add some nice furniture to it so that it looked really nice like yours. I am sure it will add a lot to my home and help to make it look better. Thank you for the great post! http://lifestylepatios.com/services/patios/
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and for your kind words, Julie! We love the patio and often receive complements from visitors. :)
DeleteJulie - how is the patio holding up after these years?
ReplyDeleteHey Chris - we've since moved so I can no longer see or step foot on the brick myself. However, when we've driven through the old neighborhood, we can see that the patio is still there, being enjoyed. :)
DeleteThe brick looks beautiful 😍. I have a pile of old bricks that I got from an old fireplace & I plan on re-using them for a floor in a greenhouse....... eventually! 😉
ReplyDeleteIn a greenhouse brick will be brilliant. It was a big project, but you can do it! Hope you'll come back and share a picture.
DeleteHi do you recall the size of that brick patio? I’m doing a very similar project. Looks great!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenn! Approximately 12' x 16'. I'd measure for you but we haven't lived in this house in years. I drove by recently and the patio is still there and cute as ever. Good look with your project!
